Xbox Live Gift Card (US)The Sift is Minecraft's newly announced fourth dimension, joining the Overworld, Nether, and End. According to the official Minecraft Live recap, it is the first new dimension to be added in more than 14 years, making it the most important reveal from the September show.

Mojang describes The Sift as a vibrant, otherworldly place filled with souls. The presentation showed colorful landscapes that look different from Minecraft's existing dimensions, as well as areas called the Meadow and the Carapace.
At least one creature native to The Sift appeared during the broadcast, but Mojang has not revealed its name or explained how it behaves. The full biome list, available resources, structures, and other gameplay systems also remain unknown.
Players will be able to experience The Sift first in Minecraft Dungeons II. The dimension will then be introduced to Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027.
The Sift has two different release windows.
In Minecraft Dungeons II, players can begin exploring The Sift when the game launches on September 29, 2026.
For Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition, The Sift is scheduled to arrive in 2027. Mojang has not announced an exact release date or confirmed which game drop will include it.
This means September 29, 2026 is the Minecraft Dungeons II release date. It is not the date when The Sift will become available in Java or Bedrock Edition.
The Minecraft Live presentation introduced the basic idea behind The Sift, but many of its most important features remain secret.
Mojang has not confirmed:
These details should remain listed as unconfirmed until Mojang releases another presentation, Java snapshot, or Bedrock preview.
Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29, 2026, as the sequel to the original Minecraft dungeon-crawling action game. Instead of relying mainly on separate, level-based missions, the sequel introduces a more interconnected world that gives players greater freedom to explore. Jumping has also been added, opening more possibilities for vertical movement, hidden paths, and environmental challenges. During exploration, players can discover rifts that transport them into The Sift, making Minecraft Dungeons II the first game in which the new dimension can be explored. The story follows a world thrown out of balance as hostile illagers form an Illager High Council, while players fight new enemies and collect weapons, armor, artifacts, and other loot. The official Minecraft Dungeons II page confirms that players do not need to complete the first game before beginning the sequel.

Mojang also revealed Ice Caves, a new underground environment planned for the next Minecraft game drop. These frozen caves contain ice, calcite, ceiling-grown icicles, and ice crystals that grow from the ground and emit a soft light. The mix of frozen terrain and glowing crystals gives Ice Caves a distinct identity rather than making them ordinary caves covered with snow. The biome will also introduce an unnamed frozen zombie variant. Its attacks can apply a freezing effect, and some versions can throw ice balls from a distance. This means Ice Caves will add both new building materials and a different combat threat to underground exploration. Mojang has not announced the game drop's name or release date, nor has it explained how players can collect icicles and ice crystals.

Mojang introduced its vision for a Creator Platform designed to reduce the barriers facing Minecraft content creators. The project will focus on improving the tools and systems used to create, manage, and share Minecraft content. Specific features and release dates have not yet been announced.
Minecraft World is scheduled to open at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in London in 2027. The destination will include the Minecraft World Hotel, themed rooms, dining areas, and Minecraft-inspired attractions. One of its main attractions will be Escape the Nether, an indoor-outdoor Minecraft roller coaster.
Sound Effects Packs are coming to Minecraft Marketplace. They will introduce a new form of audio customization alongside existing visual content such as skins, texture packs, maps, and add-ons. Mojang has not confirmed their release date, pricing, or complete functionality.
A native version of Minecraft is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026. It is being optimized for the newer console hardware and will support Vibrant Visuals, Minecraft's enhanced graphics mode.
Nintendo eShop Gift Card (US)Minecraft Education celebrated its tenth anniversary during the event. The milestone marks a decade of using Minecraft for classroom learning, creative projects, collaboration, and digital citizenship activities.
