BuyThis NTE Version 1.4 tier list ranks every currently playable character by role, endgame performance, team value, and investment needs. It also covers the strongest teams, beginner-friendly picks, Standard Board priorities, and the key differences between pulling Blackbird now or saving for Akane Rin.
Blackbird is already on the Limited Board, with Akane Rin coming next. If your saved Annulith is not enough for the character you want, top up NTE through UUTOP and prepare extra pulls before the banner ends.
NTE: Neverness to EvernessThis tier list evaluates characters by their primary role, performance in endgame modes, team contribution, and investment requirements.
S-Class characters are generally evaluated at Awakening 0. Characters marked as A6 are ranked according to their performance at Awakening 6.
| Tier | Main DPS | Hybrid / Sub-DPS | Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| T0 | Blackbird Lacrimosa Zankou | Linko Zero (A6) | Iroi Sakiri |
These characters have the strongest current combination of personal performance, team value, and endgame relevance. They either define a leading team or fit into several strong compositions without requiring excessive investment.
| Tier | Main DPS | Hybrid / Sub-DPS | Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| T0.5 | Chaos Nanally Shinku | Daffodill Hotori | Haniel (A6) |
T0.5 characters can perform close to T0 but may require a more specific team, better execution, or additional investment. They remain strong options for current endgame content.
| Tier | Main DPS | Hybrid / Sub-DPS | Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Baicang Chiz (A6) | Fadia Hathor Jiuyuan | Adler (A6) |
T1 characters remain effective but have clearer restrictions. Their performance may depend on a particular Esper Cycle, team composition, Awakening level, or combat situation.
| Tier | Main DPS | Hybrid / Sub-DPS | Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| T2 | Aurelia (A6) Mint (A6) | Skia (A6) | Edgar (A6) |
T2 characters require specific teams, higher investment, or favorable combat situations to perform well. Aurelia, Mint, and Skia can remain useful in compatible lineups, while Edgar has a more limited endgame ceiling and is generally a lower investment priority.
| Character | Expected Role | Current Status |
|---|---|---|
Akane Rin | Lakshana Main DPS | Unranked until her Phase 2 release |
The rankings focus on the content where team performance matters most, including Beyond the Rails and High Risk Commission.
Each character is evaluated according to:
Characters are compared within their primary role. A Support should not rank below a Main DPS simply because the Support deals less personal damage.
Team synergy also matters more than placing four individually powerful characters together. A T0.5 character with the correct Esper Cycle can provide more value than an unrelated T0 character.
Blackbird, Lacrimosa, and Zankou currently occupy T0 for damage dealers.
Blackbird is the most important new character in Version 1.4. She combines strong Psyche damage with coordinated attacks, an instant Esper Cycle, and teamwide ATK support. She can lead a Nova team as its Main DPS or contribute to another carry's rotation through off-field attacks and buffs.
For her complete Arc choices, Modules, stats, and rotation, see our Blackbird Build Guide.
Lacrimosa remains one of the strongest and most flexible damage dealers. Her on-field and off-field presence makes her suitable for quickswap teams, while her Nightmare stacks and ability to copy enemy attacks give her useful options in both single-target and AoE encounters.
Zankou is a leading Incantation damage dealer with strong Damage Over Time and Scorch synergy. She performs well at A0 and gains more value with additional Awakenings, particularly in Break-focused teams.
Chaos, Nanally, and Shinku remain excellent T0.5 carries. Chaos offers strong Lakshana damage, Nanally is a reliable Incantation DPS, and Shinku has a high damage ceiling in Charge teams. Shinku is mechanically demanding, so her practical performance depends more heavily on the player.
Linko is the highest-ranked general Hybrid character in Version 1.4. Her Synced Strikes provide off-field damage without consuming much of the team's rotation, while her Hexed Enhancement benefits teams centered on Follow-Up Attacks.
She can also reduce the relevant Esper Ability Resistance based on the character triggering her Synced Strike. This gives her more flexibility than a Sub-DPS restricted to one team type.
Zero reaches T0 at A6. Zero's instant Esper Cycle and flexible rotation support remain valuable, but the placement assumes all six Awakenings are active.
Daffodill is one of the strongest T0.5 Hybrid characters. Break-focused teams have become more relevant, and Daffodill contributes damage, Break support, and quickswap attacks without taking too much field time.
Hotori is another strong Sub-DPS, particularly in teams that can use her ability to record and replay teammate attacks. She performs best with compatible Esper Cycles rather than as a completely universal option.
Sakiri is one of the safest characters to invest in. Her ATK buff, crowd control, and DEF reduction are useful across multiple team types, allowing her to support both early-game and endgame lineups.
Iroi is another T0 Support with healing and strong Anima-based synergy. She is particularly valuable in Blossom, Charge, and Hexed teams that can take advantage of her Esper Cycle contribution.
Haniel becomes an excellent buffer at A6 and appears in one of Blackbird's strongest Nova teams. However, her T0.5 placement assumes full Awakening.
NTE team performance depends heavily on matching Attributes and triggering the correct Esper Cycles. The following two lineups are among the strongest current compositions.
Blackbird + Daffodill + Sakiri + Haniel
Blackbird | Daffodill | Sakiri | Haniel |
Blackbird acts as the Main DPS, while Daffodill enables Nova and contributes additional damage and Break pressure without occupying the field for too long.
Sakiri and Haniel provide the team's buffs. Sakiri adds ATK, crowd control, and DEF reduction, while Haniel supplies another source of ATK support and can continue contributing after leaving the field.
The rotation prepares Sakiri and Haniel's buffs before allowing Blackbird to enter her transformed state. Daffodill swaps in when the team needs to trigger Nova or prepare a Break window.
Blackbird should use her second Ultimate instead of allowing the transformed state to expire naturally. Her transformation timer pauses while she is off-field, so players can switch characters without wasting the remaining duration.
If Haniel has not reached A6, Fadia can take the fourth slot when the team needs more defensive comfort.
Zankou + Iroi + Sakiri + Daffodill
Zankou | Iroi | Sakiri | Daffodill |
This team builds around Zankou's Incantation damage, Scorch stacks, and Damage Over Time effects.
Daffodill helps trigger Scorch and prepares enemies for Break. Sakiri supplies teamwide ATK buffs and crowd control, while Iroi enables Hexed and adds healing and further offensive support.
Zankou spends most of the important damage window on the field. Daffodill enters briefly to use Phantom Step and other quickswap attacks, while Iroi and Sakiri refresh their buffs before Zankou begins the next sequence.
The composition performs well because every teammate contributes to Zankou's damage plan instead of simply adding unrelated high-tier characters.
Players without Iroi can use Linko for a more offensive Hexed and Follow-Up Attack variant, although the team loses Iroi's healing.
TOP UP NTE ON UUTOP

Sakiri is the best general beginner investment. Her buffs and crowd control remain useful after a player's first Main DPS is replaced, giving her better long-term value than many early carries.
Daffodill is a strong choice for players interested in Break teams. She can support several damage dealers and does not require excessive field time.
Jiuyuan offers a comfortable mixture of damage and utility during early progression. Jiuyuan is no longer among the highest-ranked endgame characters, but that does not prevent the character from making a new account easier to play.
Baicang is useful when the account lacks a reliable Main DPS. However, players who already own Blackbird, Lacrimosa, Zankou, or another premium carry should usually choose a Support or Hybrid character instead.
New players should complete one functional team before spreading resources across every high-ranked character. A properly upgraded T1 team with the correct Esper Cycles will perform better than an unfinished T0 lineup.
Blackbird, Lacrimosa, and Zankou are the current T0 Main DPS characters.
Akane Rin is not ranked yet because she has not been released.
Choose Blackbird for Psyche damage and Nova teams. Consider Akane Rin if your account needs a Lakshana Main DPS.
Sakiri is the safest overall choice. Choose Daffodill instead if you already own Sakiri.
Yes. Their listed positions assume Awakening 6 and may not represent their performance at lower Awakening levels.
The best pull depends on which role your account still needs. Blackbird is the strongest immediate Version 1.4 target for Psyche and Nova teams, while Akane Rin may suit players who need a Lakshana Main DPS.
Use the tier list as a starting point rather than a replacement for team planning. A compatible Esper Cycle, complete rotation, and properly invested lineup will usually matter more than a small difference between neighboring tiers.
