WuWa 3.7 Suo Ming Character Guide: Ascension, Forte and Weapon Materials

Current Version 3.7 beta data lists Howler Cores, Forged Empyrean’s Sigh, and Miasmic Branch as Suo Ming’s Ascension materials. Her Forte upgrades use additional Howler Cores, Wing Polarizers, and Remnant of the Wheel.

Most Suo Ming materials can be prepared before Version 3.7. Miasmic Branch and Remnant of the Wheel are tied to new version content, so they cannot be collected in advance.

The quantities and unreleased material details below come from pre-release data and may change when Version 3.7 goes live.

Where to Farm Howler Cores

Howler Cores drop from Howler-class Tacet Discords found across the overworld. Use the enemy detection feature in the Guidebook to locate suitable targets instead of searching each region manually.

Higher SOL3 Phases provide better access to the upper material tiers. Lower-tier cores can also be converted at the Synthesizer, although repeated conversion consumes a large number of basic materials. Check the final LF, MF, HF, and FF totals before synthesizing everything upward.

Suo Ming uses the same Howler Core family for both Ascension and Forte upgrades, so the correct combined target is:

Where to Get Forged Empyrean’s Sigh

Forged Empyrean’s Sigh is obtained from the Calamity Effigy world boss at Verdant Court in Xuanfang Hold.

Suo Ming requires 46 copies for full Ascension. This material can be collected before Version 3.7, making it one of the best resources to finish early. Boss rewards consume Waveplates, so farming it first prevents Suo Ming’s level progression from competing with Forte material farming after release.

Where to Find Miasmic Branch

Miasmic Branch is listed as Suo Ming’s new local specialty from Mengzhou. Current data places it in content introduced with Version 3.7, which means it cannot be pre-farmed in the preceding version.

The expected total is 60. Once the new area opens, collect the available overworld nodes and use the in-game material tracking feature if it supports the item. Its exact locations and refresh behavior should be confirmed after the live update.

Players who do not plan to max every Forte node immediately can farm toward the full total while reserving some Shell Credits and Polarizers for the abilities they use first. Final upgrade priority should follow Suo Ming’s live kit rather than unreleased skill values.

Where to Farm Wing Polarizers

The Wing Polarizer series can be farmed through Forgery Challenge: Fallen Sanctum in Etching Plains. The material family contains:

Lower tiers can be synthesized into higher tiers. Avoid converting the entire inventory until both the character and weapon requirements have been allocated.

How to Obtain Remnant of the Wheel

Remnant of the Wheel is currently listed as Suo Ming’s weekly boss material. The corresponding boss is expected to become available with Version 3.7, so this resource cannot be prepared beforehand.

Suo Ming needs 26 copies for a complete Forte tree. Because weekly boss rewards have limited claims, begin collecting this material after the new boss becomes available. If resources are limited, spend the first drops on Suo Ming’s most important Forte upgrades instead of distributing them across every node.

Suo Ming Signature Weapon Materials

Current beta information identifies Unspoken Rue as Suo Ming’s signature Sword. Its weapon Ascension materials are separate from Suo Ming’s character requirements, aside from the shared Wing Polarizer series.

Where to Farm Mech Cores

Mech Cores drop from mechanical enemies. The Guidebook’s enemy detection function can help locate targets that currently provide each core tier.

They may also appear as secondary rewards while farming selected challenges, including Fallen Sanctum. This creates some overlap with the Wing Polarizers needed for Unspoken Rue.

Farm only the amount required for the weapon. Suo Ming’s character Ascension and Forte upgrades use Howler Cores instead of Mech Cores.

Materials You Can Pre-Farm Before Version 3.7

Most of Suo Ming’s current material list is available before her release.

You can prepare:

• This separation prevents Waveplates from being spent on materials that remain unavailable and leaves more resources for the new weekly boss after the update.

Recommended Suo Ming Pre-Farm Order

A practical Suo Ming pre-farm order is:

1. Collect 46 Forged Empyrean’s Sigh. This is a fixed Ascension requirement that can already be completed.
2. Farm Wing Polarizers. They are needed for the Forte tree and Unspoken Rue, giving this challenge the widest value if you plan to build both.
3. Finish the Howler Core totals. Check your existing inventory before farming because these cores may already be available from regular exploration.
4. Reserve Shell Credits. Keep at least 2,200,000 for Suo Ming’s Ascension and Forte fees. Increase the reserve to 2,530,000 if you are preparing Unspoken Rue.
5. Collect Mech Cores if you want Unspoken Rue. They are not needed for Suo Ming herself, so players skipping the signature weapon can ignore them.
6. Farm Miasmic Branch after Version 3.7 opens. Use the new region’s tracking tools to locate the specialty.
7. Start the new weekly boss immediately. Remnant of the Wheel is the main time-gated material and cannot be completed through ordinary overworld farming.
8. If Suo Ming is part of your Version 3.7 pull plan, you can prepare the required Lunites through the UUTOP Wuthering Waves top-up page. Decide whether you also want Unspoken Rue before farming its separate weapon materials.
