Valeriy is a 4-star Electro Sword character expected to become playable in Genshin Impact Version 7.2. This Valeriy materials guide covers his Ascension and Talent requirements, total EXP and Mora costs, farming sources, and the materials you can prepare before his release.

Valeriy can be almost completely pre-farmed. Most of his materials are already available, while his new Local Specialty must wait until the Version 7.2 area opens.

Valeriy Release Date

Valeriy is expected to become playable in Genshin Impact Version 7.2. Based on the usual update schedule, Version 7.2 is expected to launch around November 4, 2026.

His exact banner phase has not been confirmed. As Valeriy is a 4-star character, Travelers should wait for the official banner lineup before deciding where to spend their Primogems.

Valeriy needs the following materials to complete all six Ascensions and reach Level 90:

How to Get Valeriy Ascension Materials

Vajrada Amethyst

Vajrada Amethyst is used to Ascend Electro characters. It can be obtained from Normal and Weekly Bosses that reward Electro gemstones.

Lower-rarity pieces can be combined at a Crafting Bench. Travelers with spare gemstones of another element can also use Dust of Azoth to convert them into Vajrada Amethyst.

Fairy Wormwood

Fairy Wormwood is Valeriy's Local Specialty. It is found in the new area arriving with Version 7.2 and cannot be collected in the current version.

Local Specialties do not consume Original Resin. Once Version 7.2 is available, use the in-game material tracker or interactive map to find its farming locations.

Severed Tail of the Sky-Roamer

Severed Tail of the Sky-Roamer is obtained from the Chimeric Winged Lion Normal Boss.

This boss is already available, allowing you to collect Valeriy's complete Ascension boss requirement before Version 7.2. Claiming the rewards costs 40 Original Resin.

Ethereal Materials

Ethereal Glimmershards, Ethereal Crystals, and Ethereal Crystalscale Stones are dropped by Fae of Crystalline Flesh in Snezhnaya.

Use the Adventurer's Handbook to locate these enemies. The higher-rarity materials can also be crafted from lower-rarity drops at a Crafting Bench.

These totals assume that all three Talents are fully upgraded. If only one or two Talents are important to Valeriy's final build, you can save part of these materials until his recommended Talent priority is confirmed.

How to Get Valeriy Talent Materials

Glory Talent Books

Valeriy uses the Glory Talent Book series from the Relics of the Fallen Grace Domain of Mastery in Snezhnaya.

Glory books are available on:

• Saturday
• Sunday
• Lower-tier books can be combined at a Crafting Bench. Since the Domain is only available on selected days, it is worth planning your Resin around its weekly schedule.

Counterfeit Resin

Counterfeit Resin is obtained by completing the Level 70 or higher weekly challenge against The Doctor.

Weekly boss reward claims are limited, so this material should be one of your first prefarming priorities. Dream Solvent can also convert another material from the same weekly boss into Counterfeit Resin.

Ethereal Materials

Valeriy uses the same Ethereal enemy drops for both Ascension and Talent upgrades. Collecting them in advance prevents enemy farming from delaying his Talent levels after you obtain him.

Higher-rarity Ethereal materials can be crafted from their lower-rarity versions.

Crowns of Insight

Crowns of Insight are required to raise Talents to Level 10. They are mainly obtained from limited-time events, regional offering systems, and selected permanent rewards.

You only need Crowns if you plan to fully upgrade Valeriy's Talents.

What Valeriy Materials Can You Prefarm Now?

Most of Valeriy's preparation can be completed before Version 7.2. Start with The Doctor's weekly challenge because its reward claims are limited each week.

Farm Glory Talent Books whenever their Domain is available. After that, use your Resin on the Chimeric Winged Lion until you have finished Valeriy's Normal Boss requirement.

Ethereal materials can be collected while exploring Snezhnaya, while Vajrada Amethyst, Character EXP materials, and Mora can be gathered whenever you have spare Resin.

Fairy Wormwood is the only major material that must wait until Version 7.2. Since it is an overworld Local Specialty and does not consume Resin, you do not need to save Fragile Resin specifically for Valeriy's Ascension.

If Valeriy is already on your pull list, keep saving Primogems for his banner. If you are still a few wishes short when Version 7.2 arrives, you can top up Genshin Impact through UUTOP and give yourself a few more chances to bring him home.
