Skirk will return in Phase 2 of Genshin Impact Version 7.1. Her strongest on-field build uses the four-piece Finale of the Deep Galleries set, an ATK% Sands, Cryo DMG Bonus Goblet, and CRIT Circlet. Her best teams use Skirk, Furina, and Escoffier as the core, with Vodyanitsa, Mona, Yelan, Citlali, or Shenhe filling the final slot according to the intended rotation.
Before working on her equipment, use our Skirk materials guide to prepare her ascension, Talent, and weapon materials.

How Skirk's Burst Works
Skirk's Burst can be confusing because she has no normal Energy meter. She uses Serpent's Subtlety to access two different Burst effects.
Using her Elemental Skill places her in Seven-Phase Flash and changes her Burst into Havoc: Extinction. This special Burst does not consume Serpent's Subtlety. It absorbs nearby Void Rifts and strengthens Skirk's enhanced Normal Attacks, making it part of her standard on-field rotation.
Outside Seven-Phase Flash, Skirk can use Havoc: Ruin after obtaining enough Serpent's Subtlety. This version deals immediate Cryo damage and is used for her quickswap Burst playstyle.
Nearby party members create Void Rifts by triggering Cryo-related reactions, including Frozen, Superconduct, Cryo Swirl, and Cryo Crystallize. A normal Skirk team uses Hydro and Cryo characters, so Frozen is the easiest and most consistent way to generate them.
Skirk On-Field Playstyle
Tap Skirk's Elemental Skill to gain Serpent's Subtlety and enter Seven-Phase Flash. Her attacks are then converted into enhanced Cryo attacks that use the multipliers from her Elemental Skill.
A simple on-field combo is:
- Activate the team's off-field abilities and buffs.
- Switch to Skirk and tap her Elemental Skill.
- Perform one full Normal Attack string while additional Void Rifts are generated.
- Use Havoc: Extinction to absorb the nearby Void Rifts.
- Continue using enhanced Normal Attacks until Seven-Phase Flash ends.
- Restart the rotation when the support abilities become available.
- Full Normal Attack strings are easy to execute and preserve Stamina. Charged Attacks can absorb Void Rifts during Seven-Phase Flash, but repeatedly using them costs Stamina and can reduce the number of attacks performed during her damage window.
Skirk Quickswap Burst Playstyle
The quickswap build keeps Skirk on the field for a shorter period. Her teammates first trigger Cryo-related reactions to create Void Rifts. Skirk then absorbs those Rifts, obtains enough Serpent's Subtlety, casts Havoc: Ruin, and switches out.
The basic sequence is:
- Apply Hydro and Cryo with Skirk's teammates.
- Trigger Frozen to create Void Rifts.
- Hold Skirk's Elemental Skill and absorb the Rifts.
- Cast Havoc: Ruin.
- Switch to the next character and begin setting up another rotation.
- This build favors Elemental Burst damage and works better in teams with short, concentrated buff windows. It is easier to interrupt if the team fails to create a Void Rift before Skirk enters the field, so reaction timing is more important than it is for her on-field build.
Skirk Best Weapons
Azurelight

Azurelight is Skirk's signature weapon and her best general option. Its effects match both parts of her kit: she uses an Elemental Skill before attacking, remains at zero Elemental Energy, and deals most of her damage through enhanced Normal Attacks or her Burst.
The weapon also makes her CRIT ratio easier to balance. Because Skirk gains CRIT DMG from ascension, Azurelight allows more Artifact rolls to be placed into CRIT Rate and ATK%.
Haran Geppaku Futsu

Haran Geppaku Futsu is one of the best alternatives for an on-field Skirk. Its CRIT Rate and Normal Attack bonuses directly improve her Seven-Phase Flash attacks. The team naturally uses several Elemental Skills before switching to Skirk, making its passive easy to prepare.
Mistsplitter Reforged

Mistsplitter Reforged provides CRIT DMG and Elemental DMG. Skirk's Cryo infusion and zero-Energy mechanics allow her to use the weapon effectively, although players must be careful not to overinvest in CRIT DMG while neglecting CRIT Rate.
Primordial Jade Cutter

Primordial Jade Cutter gives a large amount of CRIT Rate and a reliable ATK increase. It is easy to use but can cause Skirk to exceed 100% CRIT Rate when combined with Blizzard Strayer, Cryo Resonance, or other CRIT Rate buffs.
Light of Foliar Incision

Light of Foliar Incision is mainly a high-CRIT-DMG stat stick. Its Elemental Mastery-based effect is less valuable because Skirk normally builds ATK and CRIT instead of Elemental Mastery.
Best F2P and Four-Star Weapons
Calamity of Eshu

Calamity of Eshu is Skirk's best free option when she has a consistent shield. Its Normal and Charged Attack bonuses fit her on-field playstyle, but the passive loses value if the shield breaks. Citlali, Layla, or Diona can maintain the required protection.
Finale of the Deep

Finale of the Deep is the more flexible craftable choice. It provides ATK and works best when the team has a reliable healer who can clear its Bond of Life. Escoffier and Charlotte make the passive much easier to use.
The Black Sword

The Black Sword is a strong Battle Pass option for on-field Skirk. It improves Normal Attack damage, provides CRIT Rate, and offers minor healing. The healing does not replace a dedicated sustain character in Furina teams.
Wolf-Fang

Wolf-Fang is more suitable for a quickswap Burst build. Its CRIT Rate is useful, but its Elemental Skill bonus does not increase Skirk's enhanced Normal Attacks simply because their multipliers appear under her Skill Talent. Those attacks still deal Normal Attack damage.
Skirk Best Artifacts
Finale of the Deep Galleries

The four-piece Finale of the Deep Galleries set is Skirk's best Artifact set for both on-field and quickswap builds. Skirk remains at zero Elemental Energy, allowing her to activate the set's Normal Attack and Elemental Burst bonuses consistently.
Blizzard Strayer

Four-piece Blizzard Strayer is a strong alternative in Freeze teams. Its conditional CRIT Rate makes Skirk easier to build and allows more Artifact rolls to go into CRIT DMG and ATK%.
Marechaussee Hunter

Four-piece Marechaussee Hunter works in Furina teams because Furina and the team's healer repeatedly change Skirk's HP. The set provides Normal Attack damage and a large conditional CRIT Rate increase.
It is less flexible outside Furina teams. If HP is not changing consistently, Skirk cannot maintain all of its CRIT Rate stacks.
Two-Piece Artifact Combinations
Until a complete four-piece set is ready, combine two-piece sets that provide:
- Cryo DMG Bonus
- ATK%
- Normal Attack DMG
Artifact Main Stats
| Artifact slot | Recommended main stat |
| Sands | ATK% |
| Goblet | Cryo DMG Bonus |
| Circlet | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG |
A Cryo DMG Bonus Goblet is the default choice. An ATK% Goblet can be temporarily used when it has much stronger substats or when Skirk already receives several external damage bonuses, but it should be compared with a Cryo Goblet before being treated as the final build.
Choose the Circlet that produces the most balanced CRIT ratio. Skirk already gains CRIT DMG from ascension, so a CRIT Rate Circlet is often easier to build around.
Artifact Substat Priority
Use this priority for most Skirk builds:
CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG > ATK% > Flat ATK
Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery should not be prioritized.
Without conditional CRIT bonuses, a practical target is roughly 70-85% CRIT Rate, 180% or more CRIT DMG, and around 1,900-2,200 ATK. These are reference points rather than strict requirements.
Best Skirk Teams
Skirk's strongest teams are built around three characters: Skirk, Furina, and Escoffier. Furina provides a large teamwide DMG Bonus, while Escoffier supplies healing, off-field Cryo damage, and Cryo and Hydro RES reduction.
The fourth position is flexible. Vodyanitsa, Mona, Yelan, Citlali, and Shenhe all support Skirk in different ways, so there is no need to treat one lineup as the only usable Skirk team.
Version 7.1 Premium Team
This is Skirk's premium team for Version 7.1. Furina and Vodyanitsa provide Hydro application and team buffs, while Escoffier supplies healing, off-field Cryo damage, and Cryo and Hydro RES reduction.
Use this team when you want to invest heavily in Skirk and maximize the complete Hydro-Cryo support core.
Skirk Mona Team
Skirk | Furina | Escoffier | Mona |
Mona applies Omen with her Elemental Burst and can carry Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers to provide Skirk with an additional ATK buff. This makes her particularly effective in short damage windows and highly invested Skirk builds.
Build enough Energy Recharge for Mona to use her Burst every rotation. Tenacity of the Millelith is her preferred Artifact set when Escoffier is already using another supportive set.
Use Mona immediately before switching to Skirk so that the Thrilling Tales buff reaches the correct character.
Skirk Yelan Team
Skirk | Furina | Escoffier | Yelan |
Yelan provides reliable Hydro application, off-field damage, and a DMG Bonus that increases while Skirk remains active. She is more consistent than Mona during longer rotations and contributes more personal damage.
Choose this team for extended fights where sustained team damage matters more than producing the largest individual Skirk attacks.
No-Escoffier Team
Skirk | Furina | Mona | Charlotte |
Charlotte replaces Escoffier as the team's healer and helps Furina build Fanfare. Mona supplies Omen, Hydro application, and the Thrilling Tales ATK buff.
This team loses Escoffier's resistance reduction and off-field damage, but it preserves strong buffs, teamwide healing, and consistent Frozen reactions.
F2P and Four-Star Team
Skirk | Xingqiu | Candace | Layla |
Xingqiu provides off-field Hydro damage, interruption resistance, and damage reduction. Candace supports Skirk's Normal Attacks, while Layla supplies a shield and off-field Cryo application.
This team is particularly suitable for Calamity of Eshu because Layla can maintain the weapon's shield requirement.
