Zibai's best build uses Lightbearing Moonshard, 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling, a DEF% Sands, a DEF% Goblet, and a CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet.
Prioritize CRIT, DEF%, and Elemental Mastery. Level her Elemental Skill first, take her to level 90, and use her Burst when it is available instead of forcing Energy Recharge into the build.
Zibai is an on-field Geo damage dealer focused on direct Lunar-Crystallize damage. Her Skill replaces her Normal and Charged Attack scaling with DEF-based Geo attacks and unlocks Spirit Steed's Stride, the enhanced Skill that forms the center of her rotation.
How Zibai's Kit and Playstyle Work
Core Gameplay Mechanics
Zibai's fourth infused Normal Attack and Spirit Steed's Stride each deal a regular Geo hit followed by direct Lunar-Crystallize damage.
Finishing the full N4 sequence matters because its additional Lunar-Crystallize hit is one of her strongest repeatable attacks.
Lunar Phase Shift:
- Lasts 15 seconds
- Ends after all enhanced Skill charges are consumed
- Ends when Zibai leaves the field
- Converts Normal and Charged Attacks into Geo damage
- Allows Zibai to accumulate and spend Phase Shift Radiance
Set up every support before casting Zibai's Skill. Swapping out early cancels Lunar Phase Shift and removes the remaining enhanced Skill uses.
Zibai's passive rewards Geo and Hydro teammates:
- Each other Geo character gives her 15% DEF.
- Each other Hydro character gives her 60 Elemental Mastery.
Her Moonsign passive converts Hydro Crystallize into Lunar-Crystallize. It also raises Lunar-Crystallize Base DMG by 0.7% for every 100 DEF Zibai has, capped at a 14% increase at 2,000 DEF.
Zibai Talent Priority
Use this upgrade order:
- Elemental Skill
- Elemental Burst
- Normal Attack
The Elemental Skill raises Lunar Phase Shift attacks and Spirit Steed's Stride.
Her Burst adds Geo and direct Lunar-Crystallize damage. Casting it during Lunar Phase Shift extends the stance by 1.7 seconds.
Keep Normal Attack at level 1. The attacks performed during Lunar Phase Shift use Elemental Skill multipliers.
Best Weapons for Zibai
Zibai Signature Weapon: Lightbearing Moonshard
Lightbearing Moonshard is Zibai's best weapon.
At level 90, it provides:
- 542 Base ATK
- 88.2% CRIT DMG
Best Five-Star Weapons
| Rank | Weapon | Why It Works |
| 1 | Lightbearing Moonshard | Provides CRIT DMG, DEF, and direct Lunar-Crystallize damage. Zibai refreshes its passive throughout her rotation. |
| 2 | Uraku Misugiri | Provides 88.2% CRIT DMG, DEF, and Normal Attack and Elemental Skill bonuses. Zibai activates its Geo condition herself. |
| 3 | Peak Patrol Song | Supplies a large DEF stat and a teamwide Elemental DMG buff. Its DEF is the main benefit for Zibai. |
| 4 | Light of Foliar Incision | Supplies 88.2% CRIT DMG and 4% CRIT Rate at R1. Its passive improves the regular Geo portion of her attacks. |
| 5 | Splendor of Tranquil Waters | Functions as a high-CRIT-DMG stat stick. Zibai does not activate its HP-change passive by herself. |
Use Uraku Misugiri when it is already available.
Lightbearing Moonshard remains the only option in this group that directly combines CRIT DMG, DEF, and Lunar-Crystallize damage.
Best Four-Star and Low-Cost Weapons
Harbinger of Dawn

R5 Harbinger of Dawn is the strongest non-five-star option while Zibai remains above 90% HP.
It provides CRIT DMG and adds CRIT Rate through its passive. Its low Base ATK does not matter because Zibai's main attacks scale from DEF.
Flute of Ezpitzal

R5 Flute of Ezpitzal is Zibai's best craftable and condition-free weapon.
It provides DEF% and gains additional DEF after an Elemental Skill. Zibai refreshes the effect naturally through Spirit Steed's Stride.
Cinnabar Spindle

R5 Cinnabar Spindle provides DEF and additional Skill damage.
Only a limited part of Zibai's Skill output receives common Elemental Skill DMG bonuses. Flute of Ezpitzal produces a stronger complete build.
Best Artifacts for Zibai
Best Zibai Artifact Set
4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling is Zibai's best Artifact set.
The two-piece bonus gives 80 Elemental Mastery.
In Ascendant Gleam, the four-piece effect gives:
- 30% CRIT Rate
- A 10% teamwide Lunar Reaction damage increase
- A complete Zibai team includes another Moonsign character to activate Ascendant Gleam. The Artifact set's full effect therefore remains active during her intended team rotation.
Alternative Artifact Sets
Use these sets while farming Night of the Sky's Unveiling:
- 4-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams: provides DEF and Geo damage for the regular Geo portion of Zibai's attacks.
- 2-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams + 2-piece Elemental Mastery: combines DEF with 80 EM.
- 2-piece DEF + 2-piece DEF: provides a simple early build when the pieces contain strong CRIT substats.
- Move to 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling after obtaining a DEF% Sands, DEF% Goblet, and CRIT Circlet.
- A four-piece set with incorrect main stats is not an upgrade over well-built mixed pieces.
Best Artifact Main Stats
| Slot | Main Stat |
| Flower | HP |
| Plume | ATK |
| Sands | DEF% |
| Goblet | DEF% |
| Circlet | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG |
A DEF% Goblet is stronger than a Geo DMG Bonus Goblet because the largest part of Zibai's output is Lunar-Crystallize damage.
The reaction portion does not use the standard Geo DMG Bonus multiplier.
Use the Circlet that brings Zibai's final buffed CRIT ratio closest to 1:2 without exceeding 100% CRIT Rate.
Artifact Substat Priority
Prioritize substats in this order:
CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > DEF% > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge
Flat DEF adds damage but remains weaker than DEF%.
ATK% and flat ATK do not improve Zibai's DEF-scaled Lunar Phase Shift attacks.
Energy Recharge has low priority because her Burst is not required to complete the core combo.
Zibai Recommended Stat Goals
How Much DEF Does Zibai Need?
Reach at least 2,000 total DEF to cap Zibai's teamwide Lunar-Crystallize Base DMG passive.
For a level-90 Zibai using Flute of Ezpitzal with a DEF% Sands and DEF% Goblet, target 2,600–3,000 DEF before temporary combat buffs.
DEF remains valuable above 2,000 because her infused attacks and Spirit Steed's Stride continue scaling from it.
The 2,000-DEF limit applies only to the 14% team reaction bonus. It does not cap her personal DEF scaling.
How Much ER Does Zibai Need?
Use 100–110% Energy Recharge and cast her Burst when it is available.
Her core rotation works without the Burst.
A build designed to Burst every rotation requires:
- 145–170% ER in Triple Geo with one Favonius trigger
- 170% ER in Double Geo with one Favonius trigger
- Those ER rolls replace CRIT and DEF rolls. The standard build therefore does not force a Burst every rotation.
How Much CRIT Rate Does Zibai Need?
Target 90–100% CRIT Rate after all active buffs.
Night of the Sky's Unveiling adds 30% CRIT Rate in Ascendant Gleam. Harbinger of Dawn, Illuga, and C6 Gorou provide additional CRIT Rate under their respective conditions.
Use this calculation:
Required visible CRIT Rate = desired in-combat CRIT Rate − 30% from Night of the Sky's Unveiling − active team and weapon bonuses
Do not exceed 100% after buffs.
Switch from a CRIT Rate Circlet to a CRIT DMG Circlet when the complete rotation already reaches the CRIT Rate cap.
Recommended Endgame Stats
For a level-90 Flute of Ezpitzal build using 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling:
| Stat | Endgame Target |
| DEF | 2,600–3,000 before temporary combat buffs |
| CRIT Rate | 90–100% after Artifact, weapon, and team buffs |
| CRIT DMG | 160–190% before temporary combat buffs |
| Energy Recharge | 100–110% for Burst when available |
| Elemental Mastery | Take EM substats after CRIT and DEF%; Night of the Sky's Unveiling already supplies 80 EM |
Lightbearing Moonshard raises CRIT DMG above the Flute baseline. Harbinger of Dawn moves more of the stat budget into CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
Judge the finished build by buffed CRIT Rate, DEF, and weapon passive uptime instead of applying one character-card target to every weapon.
Zibai Constellations
Zibai C1
C1 immediately fills Phase Shift Radiance after Zibai enters Lunar Phase Shift.
It also:
- Raises Spirit Steed's Stride from four to five uses
- Strengthens the first enhanced Skill's Lunar-Crystallize hit
- Adds front-loaded damage
- Allows an immediate enhanced Skill after entering the stance
- C1 is a strong stopping point for players who want a smoother opening and an additional core attack.
Zibai C2
C2 gives the party 30% Lunar-Crystallize DMG Bonus during Zibai's stance.
It also raises the DEF-based bonus applied to Spirit Steed's Stride through her first Ascension passive.
C2 is her strongest early stopping point for combined personal and team damage.
Zibai C3–C6
C3 adds three Elemental Skill levels and improves almost every part of Zibai's on-field damage.
C4 prevents her infused Normal Attack sequence from resetting. It also strengthens the next N4 Lunar-Crystallize hit after Spirit Steed's Stride.
C5 adds three Elemental Burst levels. It has the smallest impact because the Burst represents a secondary part of her damage.
C6 increases Phase Shift Radiance generation and converts excess Radiance into Elevation for Spirit Steed's Stride and the following Lunar-Crystallize damage.
Zibai C0 vs C1 vs C2
| Investment | What Changes |
| C0 | Four enhanced Skill uses, complete N4E rhythm, and full access to her core Lunar-Crystallize playstyle |
| C1 | Five enhanced Skill uses, immediate full Radiance, stronger first enhanced Skill, and faster opening damage |
| C2 | Adds a teamwide Lunar-Crystallize bonus and greatly strengthens Zibai's enhanced Skill |
C0 is complete and works with craftable equipment.
C1 improves the rotation and front-loads more damage.
C2 is the premium early stopping point.
Constellation or Signature Weapon?
Choose Lightbearing Moonshard when Zibai uses Flute of Ezpitzal and the goal is a permanent, condition-free equipment upgrade.
Choose C1 when the priority is an extra Spirit Steed's Stride and stronger opening damage.
Continue to C2 when investing in the character beyond one duplicate.
Keep Harbinger of Dawn instead of pulling the signature only when the team consistently maintains its HP passive and the build does not overcap CRIT Rate.
How to Play Zibai
Basic Zibai Combo
Notation:
- N4 means one complete four-hit Normal Attack string
- E means Elemental Skill
- Q means Elemental Burst
- At C0, use:
- E → N4E → N4E → N4E → N4E
- Set up Hydro application, Moonsign effects, buffs, healing, and shields before Zibai enters the field.
- Each N4 generates Radiance and delivers the fourth-hit Lunar-Crystallize attack. Each following E spends Radiance on Spirit Steed's Stride.
Skill and Burst Usage
When the Burst is ready, replace one Normal string with N1QE:
E → N4E → N1QE → N4E → N4E
Using the Burst during Lunar Phase Shift extends the stance by 1.7 seconds.
Place it early enough to begin collecting Energy for the next cycle. Do not delay the final Spirit Steed's Stride while waiting for the Burst.
At C1, use:
EE → QE → N4E → N4E → N4E
The second Skill input spends the Radiance granted immediately by C1.
Common Zibai Build Mistakes
- Swapping out during Lunar Phase Shift: this ends the stance and removes unused Spirit Steed's Stride charges.
- Stopping before N4: the fourth attack carries direct Lunar-Crystallize damage and supplies important Radiance.
- Holding the Burst for a perfect rotation: use it when available instead of sacrificing CRIT and DEF for ER.
- Starting without Hydro application: Lunar-Crystallize requires Hydro aura.
- Playing without Ascendant Gleam: another Moonsign teammate is required for the intended stance rotation.
- Overcapping CRIT Rate: count the Artifact set, weapon passive, Illuga, and C6 Gorou before choosing a Circlet.
- Using a Geo DMG Goblet: DEF% is stronger because reaction damage does not use the normal Geo DMG Bonus multiplier.
- Leveling Normal Attack first: Lunar Phase Shift attacks use the Elemental Skill Talent.
